Let’s Play and get started

1. Ask your friends to join you. It is easier and more fun together.
2. Make an event on Trashless.earth, Facebook and/or Instagram, invite your friends and ask friends to invite friends.
3. Wait for everybody to gather at the appointed day and place and have a brief introduction round for everybody to get to know each other.
4. Then give people the opportunity to have 4 to 6 Trashdates of 15 minutes each. Ask them to make couples, go for a trashwalk together and come back to change partners after 15 minutes.
5. After the trashdates, make a circle and ask people to share what they are organizing or what help they might need to reach certain goals regarding the plastic solution. Maybe you can help organised one of the ideas that came up for the next meetup.
6. Close with drinks or a picnic somewhere to celebrate your achievements of the day. ( If you decide to have drinks or a picnic, don’t forget to announce it when you invite people to your event).

• Ask your friends to join you. It is easier and more fun together.
• Pick a date, a time and a supermarket and find a meeting point near the supermarket.
• Make an event on Facebook, Instagram and/ or Trashless.earth, invite your friends and ask friends to invite friends.
• Share the event in Facebook groups if you have Facebook and in other social media.
• Call the headquarters of the supermarket of your choice and tell them in a friendly way that many people are concerned about the amount of plastic packaging in the shops and what you are going to do at what day and time.
• Inform media if you like. The more attention you get, the more likely it becomes that the supermarket will listen.

• Pick up a piece of trash from the street.
• Take a picture or selfie of your trashure
• Share it on social media with the #BackToSender tag
• Write a personal message or copy our standard letter (do not forget to fill in the brand name)
• Send it back in a big envelope to the producer
• Complete list of PO boxes from producers in the Netherlands where you can sent it to without stamps

Preparation

• Invite a fellow trashpicker(s) to the TrashGame
• Have Bags non transparent ready 2 bags for each person ( 1 bag for brands, 1 for other trash)
• Gloves and grabbers when available.
• Download the Litterati app on your phone and test it if not yet installed
• Join the Trashless.Earth club in Litterati
• If in the same place set a time to pick items ( you can play more rounds if you like)

Tip: You can also challenge somebody on the community map and keep track of time and stay connected by whatsapp or skype.

Albatross is one of the most touching and inspiring movies I have seen concerning the plastic problem. Of course you can also use this setup for any other movie screening.

4. Organise some snacks or drinks and welcome your guests on the day of your event.
5. Afterwards you can tell them they can do something about it by joining Trashless.earth and ask what small action they can take to make a difference in their daily life.
